Outright Gifts
Gifts of cash allow donors to receive full tax benefits to
the extent allowed by law.
Pledges
(a written promise to provide funding over time) Arts of Collin
County Foundation encourages pledges as a way of giving to the capital campaign.
While most pledges are for a three-year period, longer term (up to five years)
pledges can be arranged, depending on the size of the gift. A pledge allows a
donor to express confidence in the project now with the flexibility to provide
funds for the donation on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis.
Gifts of Securities
An attractive option for donors is through gifts of appreciated
securities. Gifts of this type may provide greater tax advantages than gifts
of cash. The donor can deduct the current fair market value as a charitable gift
and completely avoid any capital gains tax on the appreciation.
Gifts of Real Estate
Gifts of appreciated real estate offer another way to fulfill
pledges
Matching Gifts
Where appropriate, those who wish to enhance the value of a
gift are encouraged to contact their employer to determine if there is a corporate
matching gift program in place.
Shared or Hyphenated Gifts
Donors should keep in mind the option of shared, or hyphenated
gifts which enable multiple donors to combine their resources to name a larger
gift than they could have been able to make alone. This is an excellent opportunity
for donors wishing to leverage their funds to the maximum benefit of the campaign,
while receiving maximum visibility and recognition.
Deferred Gifts
Arts of Collin County Foundation has a bequest and deferred
gift program to accommodate the forethought of such donors. Donors interested
in this option should consult with their attorneys and financial advisor. |
